The story Country Lovers was definitely shows the struggles of Apartheid. Paulus and Thebedi could have lived a happy life with a quality relationship, but due to Paulus being white and Thebedi being black, this connection could never be right in the eyes of everyone else. By the conclusion of this story, I believe Paulus is not guilty, and had no real reason of killing the child. I don't believe he has the heart to pull it off.
